Vancouver accommodation This is a quirky little place. 10/10 for location. It’s immediately next to the sky train, which noise didn’t really bother us. There is a grocery store right across the street and a drug store less than a block away. And it’s decent value, even after all the taxes and fees. But it’s tired. Very tired. The grey wall paint is so sloppily painted it looks like dirt on the baseboards. The bath tub/shower is 1980 and has spots of paint on it as well. The bedding is the oldest I’ve ever seen in rental accommodation. The Endy bed is too soft if anyone is over 250 pounds. There’s no coffee table by the couch which although leather, belongs in a frat house. There’s only two dining chairs and one looks like the glue may let go. Two folding chairs in the closet work as coffee tables. There’s the smallest coffee maker ever and it leaks, so we put a plate under it. There’s no wine glasses or corkscrew. There’s one tea spoon. Just one. The dishes, pots, and flatware are garage sale level. The fridge has no handle. There’s no tea towels. Just numerous dish clothes. There’s bits of missing baseboards throughout. There’s two non-functional AC units stashed in corners. The second bedroom is a storage closet. The unit is ok for two people, but not more. Milly is sweet and quick to respond.

Stay in Vancouver B.C.
This room was in a very prime location, close to the train and Costco and many nearby restaurants. It would have been very convenient for parking to be included (in the garage) but thankfully there was street parking available nearby. Overall it was a good stay, there were just 2 things that we didn’t particularly enjoy. As soon as we came inside the house, we noticed it didn’t look like it had been cleaned. The floors were dusty, the bathroom rug was dirty (even had a few bugs near it), and the bed was rumpled, almost as if it had been used? Thankfully the unit had a washing machine, so I was able to clean some of the sheets, just in case. But there was no laundry detergent, so I had to borrow some from my sister in another unit. The second thing was the bathroom. For a unit that accommodates 4 people, there were only 2 towels. And when we tried to shower, the water was barely running (through the shower head) and there was no bath plug so we couldn’t fill the bathtub to give our toddler a bath. Not sure if it’s just like that or if it was broken, but it was very inconvenient. Otherwise, everything else was good.

Don’t waste your money
The only good thing was the gym and pool. Very run down and place with no consideration of basic living needs. For example they only have 2 large plate for a space made for 3, one teaspoon, limited lighting as most lights are not working and my husband and I had to go to local dollar store to buy kitchen basics ( sponge, dish towel and coffee filters) The ottoman pull out needs to be held together with your feet when lying down as it completely opens up when you are on the coach. 2 out of the 3 chair are broken and I fell off of one on our first night at dinner. The kitchen table is filthy and toaster full of old crumbs. The TV volume is so low and the fridge motor is so loud that you need captions on the TV to understand anything. The bathroom shower has no instructions on how to properly use it and the fan is not working either. Very disappointing in my experience here at this stay and never seen such old ugly bedding for a suite. Never again!

Amazing location
Amazing location if you’re attending any kind of concert. Unfortunately the interior of the apartment isn’t super great. The spare bedroom is a closet (the door doesn’t even open all the way) and the bed is horrifically uncomfortable. I think the apartment would be a great stay if you weren’t planning on utilizing the spare room or pull out couch however, our group did and it made for a pretty uncomfortable experience. The host is incredibly nice and helpful. We had a couple issues and she was able to assist with and was very fast at responding and helpful! There were a couple outlets that didn’t work as well as an issue with the heating not working. You can definitely hear a lot of the noise from the hallways (again if your just in the main bedroom this would probably be fine) but if you’re utilizing the pullout couch or spare room it is definitely an issue to be aware of.

Disappointed
Window air conditioner was broken. Temperature was 28o whole time. . Hall light and one kitchen pendant light (which didn’t match the other and covered in dust) not working. Curtains did not cover the windows. Bathroom fan not working. Extra bedding stored in closet was soiled. Storage room had a second bed. Only one bedroom and a small storage room.

Great location, needs some TLC
I stayed here for 6 nights with a friend. This property is located on the edge of Chinatown making it simple to walk around the city, and it is very easy to access all types of transport. There are supermarkets nearby for groceries, lots of great choices for meals (visit Charisma Cafe) and a drug store about a block away. The owner was very easy to contact and left clear instructions for how to access the building and its facilities. TLC is required for some light switches which don't work, light globe in bathroom and 1 over kitchen bench needs replacing, the bathroom fan does not work, there is worn furniture, stained kitchen towels and chipped crockery. There are only 2 spoons and 1 teaspoon. The floors could do with a better clean and there is lots of dust under the beds plus a couple of belongings from previous visitors. There also needs to be instructions provided for the washer and the dryer, and some of the dials need fixing so it's a guessing game as to what setting you're putting it on. Visitors should be aware that the second bedroom is tiny and about half the size of the main bedroom. The air conditioning is 1 unit drawing air from outside to pump out cool air, and while we found some other portable fans, the apartment was always very humid in the summer compared to the outside temperature. This place has a lot of potential as a fairly new listing, and with some adjustments could be really great.

Property host needs to address safety/cleanliness issues.
We selected what we thought was going to be a safe downtown area but future renters should be forewarned. This condo is about 3 blocks from a super-sketchy "skid-row" (E. Hastings St) that has sidewalks covered in addicts. If you stay here, don't walk that direction or be out at night. The VRBO host does not provide access to the secured resident parkade and even though we were told the public parkade should be safe, our van window was still smashed out overnight. The concierge could not believe that the host would knowingly encourage guests to park overnight in a public parkade. It's a showstopper for anyone driving into town who needs to park. The condo building is clean and well maintained but access to the room itself was not straightforward due to high security necessary for the area. The detailed email I received from the host was missing a very important PIN number necessary to access the room. Eventually the host texted me the missing info, but it was still a frustration on day 1. The posted pictures of the room are fairly accurate as this is an attractive space with lots of windows and a balcony to enjoy. Unfortunately, the place is in desperate need of a deep clean. Everywhere you touch there are sticky residues and buildup of dirt and dust in corners and under the furniture. There are lots of small repairs needed to improve the look and feel of the space. Ending on a positive note, the building is beside Costco, and we enjoyed walking over for some poutine.
