"This was my 3rd time staying at QdLR, yet I think this is my first review of the property(?). This is a solid gem in Pinhão. Although about 0.5 km from the town, the location means it is quiet. Wonderful, spacious room, excellent restaurant, and scrumptious breakfast, not to mention great wines and ports from the on-site winery. I had the trip from hell to get here and arrived late. "This place is way, way off the beaten path. It was extremely disappointing the location this time of year. My daughter and I choose not to stay after learning that there were no amenities close by. Communication of exactly what to expect would he beneficial in choosing this place. We left anbhour after arriving, because we were both so uncomfortable "

"Quinta da Barroca is an excellent place for a relaxed family time in Douro or for an event. It lacks some maintenance or improvement in some things (such as the children's park and the sauna/jacuzzi), but the houses and the scenery are great. Breakfast could have some more variety, but it's good enough, the fruit is excellent, apples right from the tree "
