"Friendly staff but disappointed overall. There was a large window with new curtains and carpet. There was a new toilet, sink and radiator in the bathroom. But it was small and the shower itself let the place down. They have overlooked some of the basics including decent beds without headboard and gap at the end to lose your pillows.Filling the kettle at the sink was near impossible as it didn’t fit under the tap."

"Friendly and amazing staff. I was able to check in early for a wedding I was attending. The location is great (very, VERY close to North Laine which is great for shopping and food/drinks). Room was clean, had air con and the bed was comfy!"

"The property was ideally situated for our needs. The bedroom was quite small but the bathroom spacious. The light above the bed wasn’t working. We reported this on arrival but it wasn’t rectified in spite of an assurance that it would be. No-one came to make up the room or refill the tea/coffee after the first night. We couldn’t get onto the WiFi at all. We also had problems with the heating, which came on for only short periods and couldn’t be adjusted. Could be a very nice place to stay if...

"Didn’t know what to expect however on arrival we were given a free upgrade to a 4 poster room, the original wood work and the 4 poster itself was nice, the host came out to greet us and carry my bags he was very warm and welcoming he had a wonderful aura about him. The room was spacious, and subtly decorated can’t go wrong with white, it’s originally was quaint and peaceful. It was quiet even though your are only a few minutes from Gatwick, only thing I say is bring a torch if you want to go...

"More shabby than chic, I nevertheless soon became quite enamoured of my humble little room on the first floor. These prices were often a third of the travelodge. Is Schmotel three times worse than travelodge? No it’s a different thing. I was therefore pleased that there were no ghosts or Frankensteins and no poo on the wall or ceiling, and nobody with loud and evil intent anywhere in the seven blessed rooms. "
