"No pudimos disfrutar de la chimenea en pleno mes de enero aunque lo solicitamos expresamente. Nos dijeron que no había muchos huéspedes y no la iban a encender. Vimos que la casa estaba llena. Tampoco nos enseñaron la zona de estar de la planta de abajo para descansar un poco después de estar todo el día fuera. Eran las siete y media de la tarde y ellos tenían previsto marcharse. "Best place to rest and plenty of hiking trails to mountains or 12th century villages. This Campoo valley has world class unparalleled romanic churches. The most common sound is cow bells as they move around green pastures. Hidden gem. Almost afraid of too many people discovering it."

"Excellent property. Only drawback would be you can hear upstairs neighbors. Moving chairs, doing laundry, people talking, even dogs crying. Lovely town, easily walkable. "

"Difficult to locate, parking is a long walk away up and down cobble-stone streets, check-in is complicated, the apartment name is not as advertised, the nearby church bells sound on the hour. Given the cost and problems it is not good value for money - better to stay at the nearby Parador. Can fully recommend Santillana."

"Estancia ideal. Dueños encantadores. La casa tiene de todo. Las terrazas ideales para tomar algo. Con espacio. Los niños fliparon con los juguetes. Y está cerca de muchas cosas. La recomiendo sin ninguna duda!!"

Lovely 15th century mansion

"This is a beautiful property in a 15th century mansion in a lovely little town. It was great to have private secure parking and the staff was so helpful. The bar was a great little spot and breakfast was delicious. There is no restaurant however and only selected options at the bar. We were there in mid-November and restaurant options in town were limited. Overall highly recommended and reasonably priced."
