Dirty dirty dirty. We stayed in a private room, and thought it would be OK as all the negative reviews seemed to be about the dorms. It wasn't.
The bedding and towels smelt clean/of washing detergent, but everything was stained and old and had holes. The paint was peeling from the walls in places. The bathtub had what looked like cigarette marks all over it. The tables where we ate breakfast looked like they had years of accumulated dirt. The swimming pool water was cloudy. And the rooms were locked by a simple padlock that hooked through the door handles, meaning if you just pushed on the doors they opened about 3 inches.
We had booked this hotel as the last few nights of our 6 week trip, located to be near friends. If possible I would have moved, but my husband got sick and had to go to hospital and we had day trips booked, so it seemed more stress to move than to stay. Even so, we still checked out a night early as we couldn't bare it.
Over 6 weeks in Indonesia this was by far the worst hotel we stayed in. And wasn't the cheapest. I know it is cheap by western standards, but basic cleanliness should still be expected.
Just do yourself a favour and skip it.
