"I stayed one night for work and found the hotel online by chance. I arrived late, after 11pm, and had a warm wrlcome. Nothing was too much trouble and I appreciated the late bar. The finish is excellent as the hotel has recently been refurbished. My room was a single but very attractively furnished with a lovely view over delightful grounds and pristine en suite. Highly recommended. "

"We have had a great stay. Dinner lastnight in the Smiths Brasserie was superb and when we retired to the oak bar after we received great service there also. Off to the spa this morning for a detox. "

"It's a traditional, classy hotel. Service can be a little stretched at reception but the quality of the staff generally is a cut above the average for this grade of hotel. The restaurant is a reslly good experience. Although the menu is slightly limited the quality of the ingredients and the presentation is superb. The breakfast is full of choices and variety (with the exception of kippers as I recall - and possibly porridge...). The presentation is excellent again although cooking your own toast doesn't fit with the otherwise classy experience. There's plenty of free parking for guests, it's close to the shops, it's opposite the pier and it's a charming and elegant place to take a break. Paignton is lovely too."

"The Royal Seven Stars just oozes history and character. It is just delightful and located right in the middle of the glorious town of Totnes. The staff are all warm, friendly and helpful. We had a lovely dinner with the extra treat of excellent live music. Great atmosphere in the bar, obviously popular with visitors and locals alike. Our room was really comfortable. We had searched for somewhere doggy friendly, but did expect so many facilities in the room just for our little dog. She was really spoilt, thank you."

It was my birthday treat and Borringdon even had a card and miniature bottle of gin as a welcome gesture, which was much appreciated."
