Nice Stay Overall
This was a centric, nice little room in Tulum. Alicia, who helps out in the upkeeping of the room and the morning breakfast, was a joy.
Although each room is part of a house, our room had a door connecting it to the patio, making coming in and out comfortable. The common area is located in the center of the home so as soon as people started getting up and/or eating breakfast, you heard the noise. If noise wakes you up easily, this may be inconvenient for you.
The restroom area in the room had a short wall but no door, which made being in the room a bit awkward as we are not used to being in the bathroom are while someone else is using it. Going outside while people are using the toilet could be an alternative but if this is at night, it can get inconvenient.
The street the bed and breakfast is located is in the local neighborhood, so not the main strip but it’s just a couple blocks away. It doesn’t have lighting at night but we never felt unsafe there; it was just another street in the area – nothing out of the ordinary.
They will provide a map with places to eat and visit – in our opinion, many of those recommendations were for tourists not looking for the real, local experience. Don’t dismiss the places you identified during your research. We are adventurous and lovers of Mexican culture, and found that some of what we considered the best spots in Tulum were not in their recommendations.
