"If you are after a "posh" hotel. This isn't it. What it is is a hotel with great staff, adequate room facilities that are spacious & clean and (above all) really good value. The friendliness of the staff seemed to generate a relaxed and friendly response in the visitors too. Each morning at breakfast guests would greet each other and talk about their days. Only a short (10-15 mins) walk from the bus and railway stations, this feels like a family run hotel. Despite being in the "off season"...

"Stayed for Valentine’s which included dinner (up to £40 Per Person) & breakfast. Main was ok but monkfish over cooked & pork under ( fat not rendered enough). They offered to take the fish main off the bill which was £32, as not finished & mentioned not the best. When we checked out the £32 was not put towards the drinks bill but as other than this we had a nice time & staff were great we never said anything. "Nice room and pleasant staff . Very good breakfast , Only thing that tainted our stay was the dog was not allowed to eat in restaurant and we were directed to the bar or outside . Neither was an option as the bar was packed due to sport and outside was cold . So no evening meal . Some leniency on our dog in restaurant would have been appropriate given the situation . "

"Comfortable room, though not large, with en-suite and a really comfortable bed. We were welcomed on arrival and helped upstairs with our luggage. We had key to come and go as we pleased and visited different places each day. Only one wet day, otherwise warm and sunny - good for October. Mostly came back to eat dinner at the Inn - food was delicious. Excellent breakfasts too. Staff did everything possible to make it a good holiday for us. Many thanks! "
