"This was our first stop on a 14 hour journey from Florida to Virginia to find our forever home. We had no idea where we were going, ended up two and a half hours through the Western Virginia mountains ... In the dark... I'm the rain! But then thru the mountain mist, shown the Beautiful bright lights of The Gateway Motel! I would have loved to stay longer. The owner was amazing, friendly and inviting. The rooms were perfect, cozy and warm. The property is gorgeous with the running rapid Creek next to it that you can hear to soothe you. They had fire pits and all sorts of outdoor relaxation. "

"We only stormy the night but we had a great room and the breakfast was delicious. Only complaint i might have is the toaster was not working but Cammy fault them for that especially since I didn't bring it to their attention. "

Abingdon was about half way between our respective hometowns. Regina is the best host! She has renovated and decorated this cabin to perfection!
