"I picked the Pension because it was close to the town center. Check in was ok—I was there at 1230 and check in wasn’t until 1430. Fair dues, the owner gave me my room right away. The premises and the room seemed tired, worn out, and a bit grubby. Light in the passageway was an issue at night. In the bathroom there was a sulphorous odor. If you kept the bathroom door closed it didn’t get into the bedroom. The shower is small, and it was a bit like having a fight with yourself in a telephone...

Prior to the arrival, the hotel repeatedly sent us messages regarding its restictive check-in times and payment policy. "The hotel is remote from the historical area and with the steep hills in town its good to drive up to the centre of town. The bar and restaurant are not in the hotel and even tho they are only about 50 yards away not very convenient especially for breakfast in winter! "The property is great in the centre of a small town. Number of eating and drinking places close by. HOWEVER there is no front desk and arrangements have to be made to check in. There's a buzzer at the door but nobody answers. The assumption is that everyone has a working cell phone to call the owners who live next door and get someone to come and check you in. We had to take our phone off "airplane mode" which cost us 8 Euros. Not good. We don't use Hostals as a rule and this won't change that...
