Skotel Alpine Resort

3.5 star property
8.4 out of 10, Very Good, (731)
"The hotel was in an amazing location, although it was very dated and needed a great deal of TLC. My room was tiny (I should have read the details better) but the bed was comfortable. The wall was backing onto the restaurant and the noise was quite loud, that said most people had left by 10pm. We had dinner which was ok, didn’t stay for breakfast. Overall the stay was fine, it was only a stop over on a longer trip down to Wellington."

Powder Hut Ohakune

9.2 out of 10, Wonderful, (270)
"The chalet is very well appointed and in good condition. I liked the cosiness but with all the conveniences and appliances you might need. What I didn't like was the reliance on previous guests to make the place clean and ready for the next guests, with no obvious thorough check in between. In particular, the bed wasn't made up and it was very difficult to find the right sheets for the bed. Also, the instructions were unclear about how the laundry is dealt with between guests, eg is it...
