"Don't be afraid to book this place. Unlike the previous reviews which I also read, we didn't get stranded outside and check in was a breeze! Make sure to check your email the night before you arrive! A key code and check in instructions are all there. It took 5 minutes to check in on the tablet once inside since I filled out the registration (link found in the email) prior to arriving. "Ideal room setup for a family with small kids. The futons can be closed off with the partition allowing for separation between kids and adult. Shower and onsen were spacious and the room came with kitchenette including stove, fridge and microwave. Good location within walking distance of restaurants, stores and some local attractions. "

"The place was super clean and comfortable. Close to the Kinugawa Onsen Station. However it’s a bit far if your main interest is to go see the shrines in Nikko. No convenience stores nearby. It would take good 20 min to walk to the nearest grocery store. 2 min by car. It’s a great place if you have a car. "

"Vastly over-priced for what is effectively an old single-room storefront(?) turned into a youth hostel. Five beds in a single room, with wallpaper peeling off, and all sorts of weird attempts at “renovation.” For the price, could be good for five backpackers. For two people expecting something worthy of the Vrbo/Expedia brand, not so much."
