Rooms are well-kept, WI-FI is really good, amenities are limited but decent enough to use. Public space is small so be aware that despite how the pictures look, it's smaller than expected.

Ueno is a vibrant interesting area. Lots of good food. Very near Narita Skyliner train station, which makes it an easy place to stay. This hostel is clean and simple. Suits solo traveller for good price in Tokyo. Very safe, but also lockers for valuables and plenty of luggage storage. Bed (capsule-type thing with curtain door) was roomy enough for what it is. I’m 6ft2 and it was fine.

The hotel was quite noisy due to the thin walls, and the building itself was quite old. The staff at the front desk were not very friendly, and they only allowed us to store our luggage until 2 PM on the checkout day; after that, there was a fee of 1,000 yen. Overall, I would not choose to stay there again.
