I stayed one night when typhoon was hitting Tokyo very hard. Having not able to ship two big suitcases from Narita to Haneda due to the Tyhoon, I had to carry them via train and foot despite the devastating rain and wind. I arrived at the hotel 3 hours before the check in time, soaking wet. Two staff members at the front desk didn’t even attempt to help me bringing in the suite cases or wiping them. After I finished wiping the rain by myself just a few meters away from the front desk people, I asked them to see if there is any way that I could check in early. I was tired, wet and the outside was dangerously raining with strong wind. His answer was this, with straight face and no sympathy. “Unfortunately, you cannot check in until 3pm unless you are willing to pay the additional fees by hour.” While I understand the nature of the business, is there any humanity here? Is there any hospitality here? Outside, there was a huge typhoon hitting, and how can these people be so cold? Having traveled over 30 countries, I have never been treated like this before at ANY hotel. As convenient as this hotel’s location was, I will never ever stay at this hotel or the other Sanco-Inns again. It’s supposed to be a hospitality industry, and I felt that I was treated just as a money dropping robot for these people. And yes, they did let me check in at 2:50pm, 10 minutes before the official check-in time, without a charge after waiting for 2 hour and fifty minutes near or in the tiny lobby.

Small room but has everything in it.
Simple queen bed for 2 pax room size is well utilized. There is only a small fixed table for charging phone purpos and i put my cabin luggage on it worjs well. There is still have a sofa couch which we use to put my big luggauge as there were not much space in the room to open the luggage stand. Relatively well packed and equip thoigh tje room is not big. There was a sepate sink inside the room so can wash hand, face without need to go into bath room. Separate toilet is good. Overall it seeve its purpose and has everything including shaver, toothbrush, bathing and could still have some hair essence, face milk, face wash from near rreception you can take and use as needed. Good zourish kettle and hairdryer.

Excellent location! This hotel is a smart choice for anyone transiting to or from Haneda airport. The monorail, various subway stations, and JR Yamanote line are all within a few minutes’ walk.

It was a rude shock when we opened the door to our room. If you have ever shared a freshman dorm, the standard room at Santo Inn Grande is smaller than that. I would definitely not recommend this hotel for people with claustrophobia. Low ceilings complicate the whole thing. When you check the amenities, it seems there is everything in 15sqm / 160sqft. There is a bath-tub, but it is half the size. The shower is half the size. Sink is right near the bed, which is yuk. It is a scramble to have 2 people in the room. Pictures on their website are deceptive. Front desk seems friendly, but keep a translator handy. If there is one positive, it is the TOTO toilet seat which is high tech, but that too is in a very tight space.

The coin laundry machine does not dry clothes fully, they are all dump after a full wash and dry cycle. The bathroom had a bathtub as well as a strong shower which was really nice, as many hotels with similar rooms will only provide a shower these days.

Everything was fine, the best feature was close to the station and the monorail from airport. The down side was the tv with no English channels at all and a window with frosted glass. Prior to our arrival I asked for a window with a view, the hotel replied " All the windows open onto a brick wall next door." Unfortunately we saw many rooms with a view and with clear glass windows. I felt like the small room was cell-like and clostrofobic for a three night stay.
