"Firstly we appreciated the location, a 10 minutes stroll from Canterbury West Station and once booked in even less time wandering into the city centre. The Reception staff were welcoming and our room No21 was at the front, a very comfortable junior suite with the addition of an L shaped sofa and lots of comfy cushions. "Hotel Abode is located in the heart of Canterbury on High Street its main thoroughfare and within walking distance of most major sights and great dining. The breakfasts at the hotel were excellent. The staff was polite and very responsive. A great stay!"

"This hotel was acceptable for the price, it is very tired looking and dated, the breakfast was good with a choice of cereals, fresh fruit salad, natural yogurt, toast, fresh coffee, tea, orange juice, full English, croissants, ham and cheese baguette. We didn’t try the food at other meal times. There was a full bar which was reasonably priced. Lift to all floors. The staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful, especially the waitress at breakfast, unfortunately I don’t recall her name...

"Lovely old character style hotel. Friendly staff in reception let my colleague and I have a few holes of golf before sunset with no charge. Well priced drinks and food. The lady serving in the bar was grumpy but that was the only negative. Would highly recommend "

"We are a group of 8 ladies enjoying a weekend away and we had a wonderful weekend at Downs Cottage. The property was perfect… comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, beautiful decor, superb location, sauna was a bonus and the garden was very pretty. Deal itself was a very welcoming town, friendly people. We’d recommend Margarita’s for take away pizza and Mike’s Bikes for cycle hire. Walking distance into Deal from the cottage was about 30mins, which along the seafront was no time at all. "Really lovely hotel - very friendly welcome and help with the parking app. Beautiful reception and bar area, with a cosy seating area for enjoying a cuppa or the buy one get one free in happy hour. A very happy blend of old building with modern facilities. Our room (no 18) was very comfortable and had views out over the fairy-light lit patio area - pretty at night. Lovely clean and smart bathroom. Breakfast was very nice (continental and/or English) set within a beautiful dining room. All very convenient too for walking around such a beautiful and interesting city. "
