"I know a lot of the reviews have been negative but this lodge is just a simple, comfortable motel. The rooms haven’t been renovated so they’re a little run down but almost everything was spotless and the linens were clean. I’d say just some of the corners were a bit dusty and there were some hard water stains in the sink. The mattresses are a little saggy but were still decently comfortable. "Rooms are rustic and quaint, but not quiet. Could hear conversations and all the sounds from next door as if they were above us. The surrounding area is beautiful. The food is good, but expensive. "Our host Gary was on top of it and got us in earlier than we had hoped and even upgraded us to a nicer, roomier and cozy cabin. We stayed on for three nights but wished we could have stayed longer. The spa was wonderful on a cool frosty night or morning and was clean and well kept. WE definitely enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property to others who want a quiet scenic getaway cabin overlooking Trail River and the Kenai Mountains. Tom, Charlie and Katmai"

"This was a cabin for 4 adults for a fishing trip. It was everything needed to fish hard all day and come back to camp and relax. There is running water and a shower with toilet. A microwave and a mini fridge is also in the room with two double beds. The coffee maker was a welcome addition for the next morning. "Stayed with Friends for a fishing/hiking vacation. Property was a great place to stay and allowed us access to many of the outdoor activities. Nice kitchen/porch and spectactualr view for cooking dinner and having drinks while the sun started to go down. Host was great and easy to communicate with.
