"Paradise! Lovely small resort with friendly, helpful and attentive staff. This is rural Mexico and most staff speak little English. The rooms are clean and comfortable with hot water showers. Nice pool, amazing views, good food both for the included breakfast and purchased dinners. You can walk miles on this relatively secluded beach but swimming is NOT recommended due to strong surf and currents. Abundant birds and aquatic life. We saw whales and dolphins daily! There is minimal light pollution here making for magnificent night skies. The drive here from Puerto Vallarta is more than 2 hours due to traffic congestion, speedbumps and potholes but the destination is well worth the effort. Taking the bus is possible but would be challenging. We have traveled extensively in Mexico both on and off the beaten path. This hidden gem has won a place in my heart and I can hardly wait to return!"

"We loved this property but recognize the steep walk up and 55 steps down to our room might not be for everyone. It was just fine for us because the only noise was the sound of waves against the rocks below our room. Also, communication was excellent for us due to problems with Expedia but our hostess patient and helpful. The rooftop patio was lovely with great views of the harbour. The apartment was spacious with very comfortable furniture. "

"Casa Gratitud was a beautiful reprieve and place to relax while enjoying the Mexican Bay of Banderas in the quaint fishing village of Yelapa. The house sits well above the coast affording a view that never grows old with whales spouting and playing almost every day. The landscaping surrounding the home is beautiful, blending in with the natural, lush landscape of palm trees, banana trees, and other rainforest type vegetation. The three levels of the home made for just the right amount of space for a family to spread out and not feel cramped, but the main living area was where we could hang out all together very comfortably. The patio provided outdoor seating for dining and games, but the kitchen bar was convenient for grabbing quick breakfasts and snacks. The kitchen was clean and stocked well enough for us to eat almost all of our breakfasts in the house, as well as to prepare two meals. (The food in Yelapa was wonderful too, however, so preparing meals is not completely necessary.)Although the weather was cloudy and not as warm as we had hoped for, Casa Graditud saved the trip, making our family vacation memorable, relaxing, and beautiful! "

"We had the best time with our extended family in this awesome house in the most awesome place - Yelapa! This house is 12/10 and everyone was incredibly nice and took the best care of us! "

"The property is located right above the outcropping that separates the 2 beaches at Yelapa, and the gate is in the main path in town. Great location, and you will enjoy all night the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks 30 feet below the wrap around balcony. The stairway down to the property is in great shape and charming. It separates you from the horses, donkeys and ATV traffic. The pool, not huge, is wonderful; on the cool side late in December, which was therapeutic. It helped my sore, sun burnt, bug bitten body after 7 days of birding in the region. Great view. No house in Yelapa has a better view than this apartment. Also, importantly, the huge king bed was firm, but comfy. A previous post suggested updating. I agree, but it works as-is, and a big update will drive the price up. What I paid was very very reasonable. A couple inexpensive fixes may be sufficient, which I will share with the host. Final note, this is one of three units. This is the middle one. I met the folks staying in both. They were great. Bottom line, I would/will definitely stay here again."

"We had a wonderful stay in Yelapa. It was our first time to Yelapa, and Jay helped us organize a private boat to town from a marina close to the airport. The house is also only a minute or so from the town pier.The view from the house was unbeatable, waking up every morning was a delight, and watching sunset in the evenings was amazing as well. The crew in town, Felipe & Yanet took great care of us. The people of Yelapa were also super friendly and I can’t wait to come back.My only complaint was that the water pressure would drop if too many people tried to shower in close succession which can be problematic if you have a lot of people staying there, but we just spaced out our showers once we realized this. Yelapa is pretty remote, so it’s not surprising.All in all a wonderful stay and I highly recommend Casa Palmas!"
