The village of Arroyo Seco has cafes, galleries, shops and an organic food market, and is just 7 minutes away. Great hiking trails are from 10 to fifteen minutes away and Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument can be seen from the west portal. The location is great for day trips to Santa Fe (1 and 1/2 hours), Red River (45 minutes), Rio Grande Gorge Bridge (15 minutes), Great Sand Dunes National Monument (2 hours), Angel Fire (one hour), Bandelier National Monument (1 and 1/2 hours) and of course the Taos Ski Valley and Taos.
