Uninhabitable Property and Poor Host Communication
Our stay at was extremely disappointing and frustrating. We encountered several significant issues that made our experience very unpleasant:
1. Severe Ant Infestation: On the second night, we discovered a severe ant infestation throughout the property. Ants were everywhere, including our living spaces and personal belongings, making it impossible to stay comfortably or safely. Despite providing video evidence, the host downplayed the severity and only offered to send a cleaning service the next day, which was inadequate.
2. Poor Communication and Rudeness: The host requested that we communicate via WhatsApp, and despite our immediate and clear attempts to resolve the issue, the host was dismissive and rude. When we asked for a refund due to the uninhabitable conditions, the host accused us of looking for an excuse to leave and refused to acknowledge the seriousness of the problem.
3. Inadequate Amenities: The property provides only one towel per person, which is insufficient for a comfortable stay. Additionally, it was not advertised that guests cannot flush toilet paper, which is a crucial detail that should have been communicated upfront.
Overall, the property was not as advertised, and the severe ant infestation, combined with the host’s poor communication and dismissive attitude, made our stay very uncomfortable. Despite our best efforts to resolve the situation amicably, the host and Vrbo refused to issue a refund. Vrbo doesn’t protect their customers.
