"This hotel is a new approach to economy hotels. There is no pool for the kids or a ready made breakfast service in the morning. But there is a full sized fridge and microwave in the room as well as a coffee maker, toaster and stovetop. The Walmart grocery is right across the street and there is a vast selection of restaurants within 10 minutes drive. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean with lots of storage. And the rates are very reasonable. "

"The front desk was amazing. Pool was a lil dingey, so I didn't really get to swim much before I noticed it and got out. But the rooms were clean and really nice compared to most other hotel 6s. This is our new place to go when visiting family now. They are even pet friendly. Pits included which makes me so happy. "

"This was my third summer and 6th stay at Islander Hotel. The hotel and Emerald Isle together make my favorite place to take my solo summer recharge stays. Last time I had some issues with nats in my room because it was right by the pool so I had mentioned getting some Bug Zammers for the hallways and corners of the hotel and this year when I went back, they had installed small blue lights that I’m pretty sure or to help with the bugs throughout all the hallways and I noticed that it helped the mat/mosquitos a lot. I am extremely happy to see that they listened to a regular customer! They have views of the ocean from all around the hotel and seating at the corners of the decks for you to sit and see and hear the ocean. You can also see and hear the ocean from the pool. They have their own private entrance to the beach. They also have hammocks on the property. You can check out bikes and beach chairs, depending on availability, to use. There are a lot of good local restaurants nearby. My next stay for September is already scheduled and I’m counting down the days! I honestly would spend a week here every month of the summer, every year, if I could work out a nice deal with the owner lol! Seriously, though!"

"We stayed in the property almost 20 years ago when it was the Clam Digger and were curious to see the renovations since that last visit. Reviews from previous guests are more or less on point. They’re doing a nice job with the renovation, however, it’s a work in progress. The rooms are very clean, the beds are confortable and every room is oceanfront, which is what we were looking for when traveling down the Crystal Coast while on vacation. The staff are friendly, helpful, and doing the very best they can do in the middle of a refresh. We will definitely try to come back in the future as the changes are ambitious, but well within reach based on what we experienced."
