"The house is a charming log cabin located deep in the woods of a sparsely populated part of Mt Desert Island. It has a nice but small private pond behind the house. The house is overall nice, but definitely has some quirks and inaccurate listing details. Contrary to the listing, it does NOT have a hot tub. The upstairs bathroom has the most unusual “bath tub” I have ever seen - it is about 30”x30” and nearly 3’ deep. It is so tall they had to build a step next to it to get in. I would NOT want...

"Very nice country home with a beautiful yard and fire pit! It was a nice easy drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Everything was clean, comfortable, and cozy. The host was delightful and quick with responses to my questions. The host was also very helpful with the favorites list they provided. We tried a couple of the faves and they were excellent and are now my favorites. Will definitely come back to this one."

"This place is in a wonderful location. Wooded and right on water. The walk to th shore is made of wood steps. The shore is just peaceful and so natural. "This was our second stay at the cottage and it was everything we remembered from our first trip. It feels very secluded and peaceful but is walkable to town and the restaurants and shops of Southwest Harbor. Beds are comfy and there is everything you would need in the house, including many games and books in the laundry area which was very nice "

"This is a lovely and comfortable home. Loved enjoying my morning coffee on the dock each day. Easy drive to many Acadia sights and plenty of great hiking and things to see on the quiet side. We took the canoe and kayak out on the pond as well. "We enjoyed our stay in Alan’s cozy cottage. It is beautiful. It had such a comfortable bed (the bed should have its own five star rating!). The kitchen was well equipped with essentials for us such as coffee maker, filters, mugs, plates, microwave, and more. It was a great place to come back to after days of exploring Acadia National Park and the surrounding area. Alan is a very responsive host and we enjoyed meeting him."
