Myself and 3 friends headed to Sun Peaks for a weekend of snowboarding and hot tubbing. Having had hot tub challenges with VRBO units before, I specifically asked BEFORE renting the unit to ensure the hot tub was working. Technically it was working, but would only work for 2 20 minute cycles at a time, then not work for an hour+ afterwards. So friends would head of the slopes early, head for the hot tub, and when I arrived 30-45 minutes later that hot tub would not work. We notice this problem the 1st night, emailed the owner that evening, heard back at 2:54 pm the next afternoon, saying he would send a tech over. The next day we headed out the slopes, and upon our return, again the same problem. I emailed the owner again, he said he had come over, and didn't see a problem (we were at the condo all night, we didn't see him or hear the hot tub). He also said in the email that there were electrical outages effecting TVs and Hot tubs in the resort. There was no outage, the lights on the hot tub worked no problem. He said he would send a tech over. The next day, the same problem, and when I emailed the owner this time, we stated would like a partial refund, the refund amount to be at his discretion, and surprisingly enough, NO RESPONSE. The town house is in an OK location, well appointed but the furniture is dated but clean. I would NOT stay here again. This is the exact reason I don't like dealing with VRBO. At Big White/Whistler, we use a proper agency, and if there is a problem (which we haven't had in 7 stays) we would just call the rental company. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT AT SUN PEAKS!
