"The small house is in a secluded spot with fantastic views of Castiglione and the mountains, both from the terrace as well as the bedroom. The outdoor pool and jacuzzi were a really nice addition. The owners welcomed us with traditional food and wine, which was very unexpected but very welcome when we arrived in the late afternoon. They also provided us with a lot of recommendations regarding both restaurants and fun things to do in the area. We highly recommend the house and plan to be back. "

"The property is a super conversion and in a beautiful and quiet village up in the mountains. Fabio is a wonderful host who is very welcoming, easily contactable and makes sure you have everything you need during your holiday. The accommodation is comfortable and well equipped. and the pool is great although we stayed when the weather was a bit too cold to get the most use from it! Easy to get to Florence or Pisa for the day by train. If you are looking for a retreat from a busy world would definitely recommend "

"Flaviano and his family were the perfect hosts. We spent 2 weeks celebrating my birthday with friends and family at their beautiful villa in the friendly village of Pieve Fosciana. Flaviano is a chef and he prepared several meals for us that were absolutely delicious, using ingredients all from within 1km of the property. We were able to pick ingredients from the garden when we cooked for ourselves. The view from the windows and rooftop terraces are breathtaking. The area is magnificent for exploring numerous small villages and doing walks. There are a couple of nice local restaurants you can reach on foot and many more within 5 minutes drive. Luca makes a wonderful day trip! Thank you Flaviano and family for making my significant birthday celebration very special. "

"This is an excellent holiday property. You climb up to it via hairpin bends so take your time and just let the locals pass you in thier Fiat Pandas. The house is a few hunded metres out of village and such a tranquil spot. I almost dont want to give a god review to stop this place becoming to booked up for my next visit but that would be selfish. On the first morning when you throw open the french doors and sit and take in the views you will know you made the right choice. The hosts pop along each morning and clean the pool for you. We used to sunbathe in or by the pool until afterlunch then go and exploreintbe afternoon. We went through the mountains to the coast and beach watching the sun go down whilst standing on the pier. Then drove to lucca for supper. One afternoon we visited pisa and paid for parking near to the tower. One afternoon we did bagni de lucca and barga We also watched the sun go down and casting wonderful sun light over the mountain and trees at lake gramalazzo before eating in a taverna. We walked up to the fortess and then recovered whilst drinking lovelly cold drinks and trying to work out how some one drove thier Fiat panda up a parked outside the gates. In summary as long as you are confident driving on the wrong side of the road dont hesitate and book this house you will not be dissapointed. "

"The villa was located in a very peaceful location we stayed as a family group of 8 and overall had a great stay although there were positives and negatives. Positives Lovely pool, kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms and outdoor terrace. Negatives Not much in the local area without a long drive, not enough sun beds. The fourth bedroom is the lounge with no air con. Air con not working in main bedroom and the agent was unable to fix this so uncomfortable sleeping. We had a good holiday but would not return. "

"The property is amazing, loads of space for 4 adults, comfortable and the views are fantastic. The pool was wonderful and Mirko (the property manager) was friendly and helpful. We didn’t have hot water in one of the showers at first, but he fixed the issue relatively quickly. The only downside is the track to the house. It is steep and very bumpy. We were aware of this but even so, the drive was not for the faint hearted!"

"High in the hills and cooler as a result thankfully as we came from Rome where it was 38 degrees. Pool lovely. Setting beautiful. Car vital. Hosts delightful. We’d come back we loved it so much. Food at restaurant around corner is really good value and excellent. We took train to Lucca for the day once which made a nice day out."

"We had a relaxing,memorable stay enjoying the well-equipped villa which is in a wonderful location for breathtaking views and exploring hilltop villages, local lakes and Lucca. We had everything we needed and for the few food items we wanted there are plenty of local shops a short drive away or the very helpful and friendly bar/shop in Casciana-also great for a beer/wine after a walk/day out. Communication with Francesca was excellent before and during our stay. There are plenty of local walks from the villa, quite a lot of hills involved, however, a car is essential for exploring further afield. We came away feeling totally relaxed and refreshed having explored what must be some of the most beautiful parts of Tuscany. Thank you and we hope to be back."
