"The property was very nice but the owner did not tell us he had an aggressive dog on the property before we arrived, knowing we were bringing our dog with us. He had his aggressive dog in a field opposite the property off lead and with no muzzle. When the owner's dog saw ours, which was on lead, he ran over at full speed, we were unable to get the dog back in the house. "A truly wonderful find! Quiet, convenient, clean well appointed cottage, with attentive, friendly hosts. Good parking, near enough (by car) to the Mourne Mountains, Murlough, Tyrella and Ballykinler beaches and Newcastle. About a 45 min drive from Belfast. A great haven for peaceful outdoor pursuits or just getting away from it all. Will happily stay again! "

"This cottage is a real gem of a find. We had a lovely relaxing week in November in this impeccably renovated and decorated 200 year old cottage which has original features blended with all the modern comforts you could need including underfloor heating and a cosy stove for evenings around the fire. The cottage itself is set in the rolling County Down hills with glimpses of the Mourne Mountains in the distance on winding walks around the quiet roads. "Had a lovely stay at Scion Lodge. Plenty of space, clean, everything we needed, quiet and great farmland scenery to wake up to. I would highly recommend for those planning hiking in the Mournes or on a Game of Thrones tour. Thank you Esther."

"We stayed from Monday through to Sunday; 2 adults, 12 years old daughter and 2 dogs. We had a thoroughly lovely stay here with quiet surrounds, fresh eggs for breakfast and loads of space for the dogs to run around. The hot tub which Conner set up for us every evening was a God send after biking all day! The location is also stunning and very peaceful if you are wanting rest and relaxation. "Cute apartment. Came with small children so it isn’t really soundproof well for the neighbours below. Also, our apartment was at the top. Be prepare to carry your luggages up. Other than that, easy access around, communication with host is easy and neighborhood was pretty quiet when we were there."
