"We love the small town Laugarvatn. After dinner at the hotel, we took a long walk visiting the surrounding area, including a school with its playground, the Fontana spa, and the nicely decorated hotel/hostel nearby. Our room is nice and clean and has beautiful lake view. Staff members are all very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay. The dinner options are alright. We ordered the lamb curry and fish stew. Both were lukewarm and portion size is Icelandic (healthy/small). Wish they were a little hotter."

"This property is a short distance from Gullfoss, a spectacular double waterfall. The hotel operators are friendly, attentive, and helpful -- to the grand extent of having the cook use his charger cables to give our car a needed boost for a drained battery. The hotel restaurant is also excellent, as was the included breakfast. We highly recommend."
