It is part of the municipality of Maasgouw and is close to the Belgian border, on the river Meuse. Stevensweert's surroundings are particularly suitable for nature lovers. The village is close to natural areas such as the Maasplassen area, which is an ideal area for water sports, fishing and hiking.
