After a great day exploring to return to our quiet countryside cottage for a relaxing glass while watching the sunset over the hills as the the horses enjoying a late night snack in the paddock and the swifts and bats doing tricks was wonderful . "Enjoyed our stay in this country pile. The owner was friendly and helpful and the location was great. We enjoyed a walk around the loch and the views. House decently equipped for self-catering. The issue was the agent company who are managing the property - they failed to update the details on the heating contribution costs, send us any info about how to check-in or pass on the owners details or the owners request for our bank details to return the deposit. "

"This is a superb cottage, finished to an excellent standard and very well equipped. There is no phone signal or WiFi which some people may not like but for us that just added to the feel of having a proper getaway in The Borders countryside. You can’t walk on the immediate estate but that really doesn’t matter as there are plenty of walks in the area. What made a big difference was the warm welcome from Julie who looks after the property and who provided a number of extras for us on arrival,...

"Beautiful roomy property with lovely large kitchen with additional living room. Enclosed garden was great! Location was very good, and was handy for many towns and tourist spots. Only issue was that a few of the beds sagged in the middle but there were others to choose from cause some of our party couldn’t make it. "

"This has got to be the best cottage we have stayed in, either at home or abroad. Excellent location, quiet but still within walking distance of shops, pub etc. The welcome pack was the best ever, milk, cheese, bacon, orange juice, butter, red and white wine, bread and a basket full of groceries to make a very nice pasta based meal.
