Yet it is only 5 minutes drive to a very pleasant low key sandy beach with two seaside restaurants and a lovely byzantine church on the waterfront. There is a small mini market and restaurant in Skoutari a few ks away but best to get supplies in one of the bigger towns like Gythieo or Sparta. "I cannot recommend this property enough. It is private ( yet a 5 mins walk to the beach), fabulous restaurants all within walking distance, spectacular views from 2 balconies that take you breath away, and Maria your host is helpful and charming."

"Plus: Wonderful terraces overlooking Kalamata. Negative: This is a stone house and can be quite cold. We successfully heated the living room area, but could not heat the lower bedroom. Also the house is a long way up a winding road and somewhat out of town."
