"Wow! Can’t say enough good things about this place. So quaint and comfortable, the entire house is filled with antiques that were so interesting! The bedrooms are spacious and comfy. The breakfast was phenomenal Sausage casserole, French toast, eggs anyway you like… the innkeeper was so kind and took care of every last detail.. honestly can’t wait for a return visit! Oh and her puppy Rocky was just icing on the cake "

"The second best mistake I’ve made! I was trying to book in Clarksburg WV, but booked Clarksville by mistake. I decided to go anyway as the place looked so charming. We had a great stay and loved the place. The proximity to Clarksville made dining easy. The rooms in this genuinely historic building were gorgeous and beautifully furnished. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee was amazing. Highly recommended!"

"We were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the Charles Bass House was. John, the host, was extremely gracious and handled our minimal food allergies with ease. We had what was probably the best breakfast of our vacation. We recommend staying here and if we find ourselves even remotely in the South Boston area again, we would not hesitate to return. Highly recommended!"

"It was a nice setting, although I was on the move a lot so didn't have a chance to stay long and enjoy the house more. The house is close to an amazing restaurant called the Molasses Grill in Halifax."

"We have been staying at the Great Escape every other year for three Thanksgivings. Fantastic place for extended family to gather for a holiday and family time. Plenty of space for cooking all the family favorites. Pete and Teresa are great hosts. Highly recommend."

"My sister and I have an ongoing Thanksgiving tradition to get together on Thanksgiving weekend with our husbands. She lives in South Carolina and we live in Pennsylvania so Huddleston is almost the exact middle for both of us. "We were visiting family in the area, and this little house was perfect for us. Very comfortable, had everything we needed, plus some. It’s obvious the hosts have tried to think of anything you might need during your stay. Just wish the weather hadn’t been so cold, would have loved to have sat on that great front porch and had my morning coffee. "
