PROS: Room was clean and was cleaned every day sufficiently (restocking toiletries and towels and 2 bottles of water). The air conditioner worked well and the queen bed that we had was clean and comfortable. My partner especially enjoyed the full length mirror. There was a peep-hole in the door for security and a security chain too and an extra lock on the door.
CONS: We opted for a non-smoking room, but the smell of cigarettes from people smoking in the hallways seeps in through the door. The bathroom also constantly smelled of cigarettes, possibly to do with the ventilation systems being linked together(?). The TV cable channels were of bad quality (in terms of the visual quality of the channels, there was always interference and static) and on some days it was completely dead. THE ROOM WAS NOT SOUNDPROOF AT ALL, all outside noise could be heard from the room, screaming children in the hallways, people talking in other rooms, neighbours TV's, and other noises ---- COUPLES need soundproofed rooms, both for keeping sounds out, and especially for privacy (we all know what I'm talking about).
Overall, the room was quite comfortable and suited our purposes - we only needed it for rest and sleep, and it served us well. The staff was very friendly and eager to help in any way they could - the staff can speak very good English. The hotel is in a good location for trips to Raja Ampat and some of the islands surrounding Sorong.
