Really comfortable, well-equipped and beautifully-located home
This is a really comfortable, well-equipped and beautifully-located home. Antony is really easy to deal with, always quick to communicate back. As he says in the blurb, there is no phone signal but the wifi is excellent and so long as you wifi-enable your phone for calls, it's no problem. Plus, WhatsApp works over wifi. Location is excellent and there is a good pub with food at the Buck Inn. Only thing to note: you don't get the whole chapel. It is actually split into two. It didn't matter for us, as there was nobody in the adjoining house when we were there. But if you were hoping for fully detached, you may want to bear this point in mind.

Fantastic little gem, would defiantly return
Only thing I can say is they need a sign on the get to say please shut the gate, we have a little dog and they was a few times someone who went to visit the neighbour had left it open, so had to rush out quickly. But what a lovely week. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a lovely break in a wounderfully place to stay. Thank you see you soon

Wonderful property
This wonderfully converted chapel was an amazing base to explore the Dales. Check in process was brilliant with very clear directions and instructions to access the property. This is one of the best cottages we’ve stayed in and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thank you

Split Church
Under the impression that the property was a single unit, not a split unit with neighbours walking past windows. Also looking on to the back of a childrens home, was not the view we anticipated

Tales from the Dales!!
We stayed in this beautiful 2 bed property for 2 weeks in January and we absolutely loved it. A massive advantage was definitely the glorious weather however the location of the cottage meant that anywhere we went to visit, was within a short drive away. There are beautiful walks on the doorstep (no driving required) and others included Ingleton Falls, Gordale Scar, Malham Cove and Tarn, Aysgarth Falls. We visited Castle Bolton, Bolton Abbey, Fountains Abbey, Grassington, Skipton, Hawes, Ripon, Ribblehead Viaduct, the steam train from Embsay, Coldstream Cut, Brimham Rocks. The Buck Inn only 2 minutes walk from the cottage cooked fabulous food (and you could book the settee and chairs by the fire for added, guaranteed comfort!!!). The Craven Arms at Appletreewick was fabulous and Devonshire Arms in Grassington. We loved this cottage location and the Yorkshire Dales so much we actually looked to rent in this beautiful area long term!!!!! Thank you Antony for allowing us to stay in your beautifully decorated, comfortable cottage. We will return!!!

Peaceful, perfect holiday
We loved our stay at The Chapel. The property was superb in every way and in a perfect location for walking. We were blessed with good weather and were able to enjoy so many walks from the doorstep. The neighbours were all very friendly. We discovered a lovely deli at Kettlewell, just before the car park on the other side of the road and made a special trip to Kilnsey trout farm to pick up some excellent fresh trout. It was a much needed holiday and provided everything we were looking for. Karen and Martin

Lovely property in remote village
Very comfortable and tastefully furnished property discreetly tucked away in a quiet remote village in the heart of the Dales. The owners present the chapel to very high standards indeed and pay great attention to detail. A very homely and charming place. Really cosy and it snowed when we were there as well. If you are looking for something out of the way this is a great place to unwind. We loved everything about the place and the elderly guy in the house behind is really nice to chat with. Very highly recommended

Very Comfortable Accommodation in a beautiful part of the world
The Old Chapel proved ideal accommodation for my wife and I in one of our all time favourite parts fo the world. There are 2 bedrooms, so 4 people could stay, although we felt that might be a little crowded, but for the 2 of us it was ideal. The cottage is very well equipped to a high standard throughout. We were a little concerned at the prospect of electric heating, especially as we were in Buckden in late January, but our fears were groundless - the cottage was warm and snug throughout our stay. Needless to say the surrounding countryside is magnificent and there are many beautiful walks to be had from outside the front door and several great pubs within easy reach, the Buck being a short walk away. Travelling as a couple we would recommend the O)ld Chapel without reservation.

Very Cosy, comfortable and doggy friendly
The Old Chapel is a very comfortable, cosy and well equipped cottage. It is also very dog friendly and has a lovely garden. Buckden is in the heart of Wharfedale and there are several walks straight from the cottage. There are also pubs nearby. A lovely place to stay and enjoy the Yorkshire Dales.

Just what we needed
This holiday was so relaxing and perfect. The Old Chapel was quaint and very homey. It had a feeling that welcomed you as soon as you stepped through the door. The local pub wasn’t to our liking as it had fancy type meals, we were expecting pub meals of pie and chips or fish and chips, so we just had a drink or two. The local tea room you must visit. It was lovely and the food spectacular. We visited Middleham Castle, Mount Grace Priory and gardens and Bolton Castle. All three was lovely but Bolton Castle is by far the best castle I have seen in the 15 years I have spent in the UK. If given another chance, we would book again. The only thing I didn’t care about was the man that lives in the back half of the chapel was constantly back and forth the side of the house where there are two huge windows. It was rather annoying and felt like it was an invasion of privacy. But it didn’t deter from the holiday.

“You scored when you picked this one!”
That was the comment my husband made when we walked through the doors and had a look around at The Old Chapel. While it’s hardly on the beaten track, if you’re looking for walking trails at every turn or, like the two of us, for a quiet get away in a beautiful location with super accommodations, look no farther - The Old Chapel at Buckden has it all! As octogenarians, long walks aren’t our gig, but we did enjoy the shaded path along the River Wharfe and found our way to several of the pubs for a lager and a cider, as well as tasty meals. In fact, the Lamb Hot Pot at the Racehorse Inn in Kettlewell was incredible! A trip to Hawes on Thursday evening to see the sheepdog demonstration was not only interesting, a first for us. Meeting Ted and his wife, Margaret, was a special treat, and it was our good fortune to be in Buckden for the Garden Walk. The only way our stay could have been more enjoyable is had we known earlier that there’s a tea room in Buckden!

excellent, relaxing, warm and cosy
the Old Chapel was a warm and cosy haven for our weekend of Walking in gails and white outs. Two trips up the Pike in wild winter conditions were rounded off perfectly by having a warm, cosy and well equiped place to retreat to for wine and recuperation ;-) we'd wholeheartedly recommend the Old Chapel to any looking to enjoy the beauty of the Dales.
