"We are just back from a two nights break at the ‘Derwent Manor Hotel’ celebrating three birthdays and we were completely blown away from the start to the finish. Debbie and Natalie who made us so welcome on arrival. There was eleven of us in the group and everyone was blown away with the quality of their rooms along with the quality of the food and service that we received both at dinner time and breakfast time. We all agreed that we’d had a great weekend and took our hats off to the staff that looked after us. None of us found a single fault with the weekend break and we will definitely look to book there again in the future as there is so much to do and see in the area. Thank you to management and staff for taking care of us."

"This is a privately owned hotel that has all the qualities of a major 5 star chain, it is spotless, the attention to detail in everything is incredible, it’s a warmly welcome from everyone and the amount of customers it gets shows, there are no signs of cheap bedroom furniture bought from cheap shops, everything is matching and feels like quality. Well done to all of you and keep going onwards and upwards."

"It’s a lovely cottage, spacious and homely, on a farm with view of fields, hills and sheep. It’s in a good location for visiting all the local historic areas. Hadrian’s wall, the Roman museums etc we even drove to Edinburgh on one of the days. "

"Three 50 lads enjoyed a night at brewery here and then a night out in the toon. Great size room for 3 and for price was great value! Full English Breakfast was ok but I’d say a tad pricey. Staff in bar were fab. "
