"We had an absolutely amazing stay at this cozy and quirky gem in the Santa Cruz Mountains! The property was full of charm and character, making it feel like a true escape while still being conveniently close to everything. Just a short drive to the beach, hikes, and a cute town, the location couldn’t have been better. Emkay was incredibly welcoming and kind, which made us feel right at home. We did not end up bringing our cat, but it was lovely to visit with all the sweet animals on the property. The hot tub is wonderful, and we are dying to see the creekside beach in the summertime. The cabin itself was thoughtfully designed, with unique touches that made it feel warm and inviting. It was very clean and stocked with everything we needed. It would have been nice to have access to a water spigot (like at a campsite) to wash dishes, but Emkay thoughtfully provided us with large water jugs for drinking. Whether we were eating dinner on the deck, exploring nearby trails, or unwinding after a day at the beach, we felt completely at home. I have never slept so well away from my own bed before! Typically, we camp so this was a luxurious treat. The hosts have clearly put a lot of care into this space, and it shows. Given the high-quality experience we had, I am shocked at the modest price.If you're looking for a unique and peaceful retreat with plenty of adventure just minutes away, this is the perfect spot. I cannot recommend it enough. We can’t wait to come back! "

"The check in was very easy and they allowed us to drop off our luggage early and that was greatly appreciated!We wanted to stay in the mountains so the location was ideal but be aware it is a drive you want to make in the daylight. The host informed us of the drive and we appreciated that. The house was surface clean but it was DESPRATE for a deep and thorough scrub.We expected a rustic mountain cabin. However, it wasn’t a single "cabin" because people were in other areas of the large house. Just be aware that people are in attached parts so you really need to be respectful of noise. Our neighbors were nice and quiet so we had no issues. The house was not well equipped to prepare food or feed 5. There was only 1 hand towel in the bathroom for a 3 night stay and we couldn't find any kitchen towels so you may want to bring your own. The provided soaps were watered down so you may want to bring your own soaps as well. Only 5 glasses, 5 coffee mugs, 3 "wine" glasses, a broken cork screw (we purchased an inexpensive one and left it behind), not enough silverware and knives that barely cut bread. The part we stayed in was not a child friendly cabin because of the open loft and other odds and ends but we didn't have little children with us.The beds and couches were comfortable so if you’re looking for an adventure, this is the place to stay just pack some of your own basic necessities."
