Our bright, modern well equipped suite has walk-out access to the beach and an expansive ocean view from every window. Bring your kayaks, bikes, or a good pair of walking shoes - or just curl up by the fireplace for a quiet weekend relaxing to the sound of waves.

Note: This property is compliant with the principal residence requirement of the BC Short Term Rental Accommodation Act that came into effect May 1, 2024. Our registration number is H616204493.

The space

Our suite has a full well-equipped kitchen, a cozy gas fireplace and a luxurious bathroom with heated floors, large walk-in shower and locally made soaps and shampoo etc. It’s equipped with in-suite washer and dryer and more closet space than you’ll need even for longer stays.

The suite has its own private entrance with keycode lock, so you can come and go as you wish. We live on the property but we respect your privacy and you may not even see us during your stay - unless you want to, in which case we'll be happy to help out with recommendations, directions, or other arrangements.

We're renting the unit as a studio for one party of guests, with a sleeping area separated by sliding screens. An adjoining bedroom may be available for guests with family or for those wishing a fully separate sleeping space; please contact us for rates.

Guest access

Feel free to relax and dine on the patio, in the yard, in the big red chairs beachside, or of course on the beach itself. Let us know if you want to borrow the rowboat for a beautiful excursion along the shoreline if you are experienced on the water.

Interaction with guests

We live on the property and are available if you need assistance, but we will respect your privacy. With key-code entry you might not even see us - unless you want to, in which case we'd be happy to recommend local restaurants and attractions, good hikes, etc.

Other things to note

While the beach is eminently walkable, you'll need to walk down three steps and hop across a few logs to get there. Watch your step!

We don't have cable but you're welcome to use our Netflix account, stream wirelessly to the AppleTV or connect your phone or tablet directly to the TV.

There is no phone in the suite so if you don’t have one, just knock on our front door if you need to make a call.

So peaceful, quiet and with a gorgeous view. The place was immaculate and felt like home, great communication with the host as well, with no problems at all. The added local bathroom products were a nice touch. Would def stay again for sure!

June Getaway
We had an amazing time staying at this property. It was one of the nicest vacation rentals we’ve ever stayed in. The suite itself is incredibly well thought out and had everything you might need for any length of stay. The hosts were very easy to communicate with. They gave suggestions for things to do in the area when we inquired but also gave us our space to enjoy our vacation. Plenty of outdoor seating and opportunities for wildlife sightings: otters, great blue herons and various ducks! We would absolutely stay here again!

A great time in Victoria
Lovely time had by my wife and I. Really enjoyed our walks along the the loch, sea, shoreline Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Weather was fantastic, managed to get a sun tan so I stand out a bit in the Cariboo. Will definitely recommend to my friends. Family 5000 miles away so a bit of a hike for them.

Tranquility just steps from the ocean
We absolutely loved John and Sarah’s oceanside unit. It was amazingly peaceful to sit and watch the tide come and go while seeing herons, eagles, hummingbirds and many songbirds we tried to identify with the field book they have in the unit. We can’t wait to visit again.

The facility is spotless and has everything you could need. Good kitchen, comfortable bed, great shower and the view is unbelievable. Hosts are available if needed but give you all the privacy you could need! You have the entire downstairs floor to yourselves.👍

Cutest little space, perfect for a couple
Hard to pick a favorite part of our stay... The heated bathroom floor was amazing. The chairs and seating areas for outside were perfect. We were easily able to get in touch with the hosts and they were quick with answers to questions. They were also quick in cleaning after we left which was GREAT since I left my passport behind and they found it, and worked very hard to get in touch with us to get it returned. I fully intend for us to stay here again. I fell in love with Sydney and just being right on the water in this cozy home.

Perfect in every way!
I stayed 4 nights. Great communication from hosts. Wonderful view from all the large windows facing the water. Very clean. Bed was quite comfortable. Gas fireplace added to the relaxing evening environment. Anything you might need in the fully equipped kitchen. Well designed and quiet suite. Peaceful setting with lovely walks on the beach. Sipped my morning coffee outside watching the pink sunrise sky. Comfortable outside space to watch the birds and water. I definitely want to return but next time will book even longer duration.

The most beautiful view!
John and Sarah are the best hosts and their place is fantastic. Fully stocked with great finishes, comfy bed, about a 25 minute walk into Sidney along beach and boardwalk. But the best part is the view which cannot be beat. We saw otters and bald eagles and just enjoyed sitting on the deck. John and Sarah are totally available if needed but also leave you alone if that’s what you prefer. They were the loveliest hosts and we can only hope to come back!

Wonderful Break
This is the second time we have stayed in this gorgeous suite and will return in the future. We love the elegant, clean, simple style that the suite is decorated in. It compliments the amazing view of the ocean and creates such a peaceful environment. The hosts went above and beyond in making our stay comfortable. There was a situation completely beyond their control that they were completely on top of right away. A water main broke down the street which meant we had no water for several hours. The hosts made us aware that the water was off before we even noticed in the morning and were at the door immediately with water for coffee. We were attending a special event that day and definitely needed water to get ready. They provided very helpful suggestions where we could shower in the community and offered to cover the cost. Even though the water main break was not their fault we were provided with a refund for one night. Thank you, John and Sarah, for providing us the opportunity to recharge our batteries and get some much needed rest.

Paradise
Having never been to Canada we really didn’t know much about the area. We just knew we didn’t want to stay in the city and we wanted near the water. Victoria is a short 20-30 minute drive. Sidney is just a few minutes away and is a charming little town with great restaurants. This place is a spectacular gem. The pictures don’t come close to doing it justice. It’s impeccably clean and literally a few steps from the Salish Sea. We enjoyed using the well-stocked kitchen and there were ample supplies of consumable items. They even supplied laundry soap and dryer sheets! We had such a relaxing stay and hope to return someday. While we didn’t interact with John and Sarah in person, they checked in via email to be sure we had everything we needed. Other reviews talked about the comfort of the bed, and they are spot on. Not only is the bed comfortable, you have a direct view of the water, making it difficult to want to leave! We napped, read books, and just found such peace in this amazing place. Top notch!

Amazing Rental with all the amenities
This VRBO rental is the best we have ever experienced. The location is perfect. The owners work very hard to provide a beautiful experience. The refrigerator was stocked with juice, milk, water, eggs, bread, jellies, etc. Coffee, tea, even fruit! Heated floors in the bathroom, recharging stations on both bedsides, very comfy queen bed, the list goes on...... The rental is so well organized with all of the kitchen amenities. It is so perfectly laid out. One can watch the sunrise/set and moon on the water from your bed! Take a serene walk on the beach and collect sea shells. I cannot say enough about this property. We were continually surprised by all of the personal touches these folks put into this rental. I hope someday my husband and I can come back. Sidney is a beautiful city and walking distance from this rental. The owners are available if needed and offered me advice about hiking trails. Thank you John & Sarah for a wonderful stay. Great location
The property was situated on Bazan Bay, the views were stunning and only a short distance from Sidney town centre. The hosts John and Sarah were brilliant. The accommodation was spotless and they had supplied everything, and more, that we needed. The accommodation was clean, tidy and in the perfect location. It was beyond what we had expected.
