"Vittoria Suites has been my go-to hotel during my annual trips to Kenya for the past eight years. I've even recommended it to friends and family as a "hidden gem" in Kisumu. When traveling with my family, however, I’ve usually opted for other hotels that I thought would be more kid-friendly, like Imperial Hotel (now Sarova Imperial) or Sovereign Hotel. This December 2024, I decided to stay at Vittoria Suites with my family since it was just for one night. To my surprise, this hotel keeps exceeding my expectations! It’s one of the very few hotels in Kisumu that still offers interconnected family rooms. Imperial/Sarova removed theirs during recent renovations, leaving Vittoria Suites as the only hotel near Kisumu CBD with this feature—perfect for families with young kids who can’t stay in a separate room. We had an excellent stay and enjoyed dinner through room service without any issues. Why do I love this small hotel so much? It’s located in the posh Milimani neighborhood, close to the CBD. It’s quiet, clean, and every room has working air conditioning (a must in Kisumu’s heat). The breakfast is always excellent, with a wide variety of options. Plus, there’s a chef on standby to prepare anything not included in the buffet. The only downside? The bathrooms have vented doors positioned right next to the beds—a poorly thought-out design. Overall, it’s still a fantastic choice, especially for families."

"Just a little off the main road. Arrange pick up earlier since cabs can take as long as 30 minutes. Excellent property!!! The gardening is out of this world"

"The sliding door to the room leads to a shared balcony with other rooms. Well the door was not secure, the locking mechanism was cheap and bent and could easily be opened by pushing it which puts valuables at risk for being stolen. That is my only complaint"

"The staff, including Judith at the Reception, Evans, the chef, and the security team, were exceptionally hospitable and professional, ensuring a delightful stay with freshly prepared meals. The rooms, meticulously maintained by the housekeeping team, are both clean and well-appointed, making them perfect for both business and leisure travelers. Additionally, the soundproof windows provide a serene environment, even for rooms facing the bustling Oginga Odinga Street. I highly recommend this venue to both returning and first-time guests visiting the lakeside city of Kisumu."

"I stayed at the property for one week. The rooms were spacious but dated. Some fixtures need to be replaced (stained carpets, mosquito netting, shower curtains). Appeared to be mold on bathroom ceiling, and dead insect in bathroom on check-in. However, staff extremely friendly and restaurant was very good, although expensive by local standards. Wifi was sometimes inconsistent. Overall, I rate stay as average."

"We had an incredible time at Golf Hotel! The staff were very friendly and the prices were affordable. The Kenyan hospitality shined through during our time here. In particular, we enjoyed the service of one of the employees, Shadrack. We will certainly be back here during our next stay in Kakamega! Safe, secure, and comfortable!"
