Gorgeous Cabin Overlooking The Shenandoah River - 2 bedrooms ~ 2 lofts

The 'Eagles Nest River Cabin' towers over a beautiful stretch of the Shenandoah River where the water meanders and swirls over a long stretch of underwater ledges and rocks. The 75' span of private river frontage offers steps and a floating dock for easy access to the river for swimming, wading, tubing, kayaking, canoeing, or just lounging in a chair. The fishing is the best around as the river offers a healthy population of small and large mouth bass. Waterfowl and other birds are abundant (over 50 species documented) and bald eagles are occasionally spotted. There is a public landing and parking at the bridge just up river providing for float trip opportunities down to the property. 2 canoes included at nominal fee so you can either canoe the Shenandoah River or just stretch back in a tube and float your day away (tubes available at reasonable price at Luray Super Walmart).

Sleeping 8, this cabin is beautiful inside and out representing the quintessential vacation cabin with white knotty pine interior, vaulted ceiling, 2 bedrooms, 2 lofts, a fully equipped kitchen and a huge front porch that overlooks the entire stretch of river. At the base of the steps of the cabin is a charcoal grill, table and chairs for easy outdoor grilling and dining. The spacious side and front yards offer plenty of room for group games such as volleyball, croquet, corn hole and horse shoes. The back of cabin is in view of the historic Norfolk Southern railroad. The freight trains rumble by the cabin without whistle approximately 3 to 5 times per day.

Centrally located just 15 miles from Massanutten Ski & Indoor/Outdoor Water Park Resort and historic Luray featuring Luray Caverns the most popular cave in Eastern America and an internationally acclaimed destination. The Shenandoah National Park is also internationally acclaimed featuring breathtaking views from the Skyline Drive (Swift Run Gap access point only 17 miles) and various distance trail hikes to waterfalls and other natural attractions.

A gem of spot
This was a great spot! We loved the location on the river- kids played down by the dock for most of our time there. The lofts were very cool and the house was well stocked.

Did a little digging in the area for a get together for me and my group of friends. We love outdoor activities so we throughly enjoyed the location. The cabin was super unique and enjoyable. I love the little play pen below the house we brought our dogs so it was nice to give them a safe space to play. Def will be returning, thanks so much for hosting this beautiful cabin

Lovely, cozy little cabin nestled next to the river. There were four of us, which felt like a perfect amount but the cabin can sleep up to seven, including the futon. Two rooms (four beds) are lofted and the cabin is up a long staircase, so not recommended for those with difficulty climbing stairs. Very clean and hospitable with clear, easy check- in/out instructions and plenty of pots, pans, and dishware. Because it's on stilts the cabin shakes a little when people are moving about but it didn't keep us awake. We had a very pleasant stay!

Good base camp for exploring local area
My family enjoyed staying at this location. Due to the weather and extreme cold, the drain pipe for the shower was frozen solid. The owner was very responsive in trying to get the issue solved. He ended up refunding some of the cost due to the inconvenience. We would absolutely consider staying here again, especially during the warmer months. Thanks James for being a great owner!

Great getaway by the Shenandoah river!
We are a family of 5 with 2 dogs and the cabin was perfect for us! There was plenty of room with the 2 bedrooms and 2 lofts (each loft had 2 mattresses). The view from the balcony was beautiful overlooking the river! The cabin was fully stocked with towels, pans, plates, cups and silverware. Underneath the cabin is a great little enclosed area for our dogs while we used the Webber grill to cook hamburgers. We brought our 2 kayaks and used one of the canoes at the cabin to go explore the river. We also went on a great hike (Mary's Rock Summit) which was only a 1/2 hour away. We all had a great time getting away and spending time together in a beautiful location! We would definitely go back! Thank you!

Unbelievably beautiful. Heavenly location, gorgeous Log cabin, plenty outdoor hanging out, BBQ place. The train line behind a lodge was a beautiful experience. The house is not that big but the way it's orange, enough space for everyone. Was neat and clean and very organized. Fishing on the property was fun. Couldn't go to the water for swimming or floating cause it was bit chili. Property manager response within seconds. No doubt I'll be back soon.

Everything was exactly as described.
We have 5 kids 14yo down to 8yo, both boys and girls. Before we even got there, the kids were excited about sleeping in the lofts! We didn't miss not having a tv AT ALL and we left electronics off during our stay. The water was perfect for canoeing (even our Beagle went swimming!), swimming, a mud fight, and fishing. The kids ran around outside all day and into the night. Being from FL, we really appreciated the cooler weather (even though it was early August) and the lack of mosquitoes. Our kids have asked when we can go back again and for a longer period of time.
