"I stayed two nights in Castleton in mid-November amid some early snow which made the village and the walks around the hills stunning. But the real treat came after a long day of hiking when I was able to return to a cozy pub to have a hot meal, a pint of ale and a nice read by a roaring fire. We were anticipating a cozy room, in a country pub setting but, in reality, the D&P offers good value, chalet-style family rooms, each with it’s own car port, in a large area behind the pub itself.
