"The beautiful flowers and plants in the facility were wonderful! Going for a swim in the pool near the reception was amazing, especially against the mountainous backdrop. The rotation is also gorgeous and worth checking out! Starting here was like staying at a beautiful nature museum. The two reception staff who served us were extremely helpful and friendly. They allowed us to check out one hour later than usual and invited us to continue using their facilities and amenities after checkout! "

"Brand new build, still under construction with painting being done. VERY clean space - staff was present in the evening and first thing in the morning attending to the property / pool. The host was very responsive and even allowed us to pick our check in time. Only issue we had was the jacuzzi was cold (which seems to be a thing in Portugal) "

"The most welcoming and kind hearted host! We arrived late and she was so accomodating, great communications and made us feel at home instantly. The room was spotless and furnished with everything you would want - lovely welcome gifts also! Wish we could have stayed longer! Great location for PR1 sunrise hike the next morning. Keep an eye out for the goats! "

"The kindness and warmth my daughter and I experienced at this hotel was unprecedented. Breakfast was included and was unexpected and appreciated. We loved the roof top patio and even tried the pool amidst an unexpected rain shower. Clean and pleasant. "

"A wonderful 4 night stay in a great location. The accommodation was all newly refurbished to a high standard and every single one of the staff was super friendly. Breakfast was a feast and we enjoyed lovely meals in the restaurant in the evening. Highly recommend. "

"The staff is absolutely exceptional. Very kind, polite, helpful and the nicest people. The location is pretty good too - about a 15-20min walk to old Funchal. The walk back could be longer due to the uphill but nothing too crazy. Parking can be tricky but I never had an issue parking at the lot that was designated for the buildings but not for the hotel. The hotel could really use an upgrade on their rooms however. Possibly a fan as it can get quite hot. The walls are very thin and you can hear...

"The views and the breeze from the apartment were stellar. The apartment itself is a little funky but we had everything we needed. We LOVED the full-on views from the living room and bedrooms and the gardens all around . We very much appreciated the washer and dryer! Sadly, we couldn't sleep with the patio doors open for the fresh air because way down below is a highway with motorcycles racing in the middle of the night and my husband is sensitive to noise when sleeping. Filomena sometimes...

"I had a lovely stay at The Vine. Right from check in the staff were very pleasant and always helpful. The rooftop bar has a lovely view at night time so is a great place to relax. The rooms are big with plenty of storage space. The location is great as many attractions in Funchal are a walkable distance. The airport bus also drops you off right outside the shopping center which contains the lifts to enter to hotel. The shopping center also has a supermarket in the basement which is handy for any essentials."
