"This cute little hotel is located very close to the Chinatown gates, bus stops, restaurants. There is a little market up the road for some groceries and cold wine/beer. The pub next door has good food. It is an older building with a narrow winding staircase, but it does have an elevator. It does not have that old building smell, though! "Our stay at the cottage was wonderful! Everything we needed was there and so easy to get to other parts of Oakland from the cottage. Host was very responsive and answered all our questions promptly. Just slightly awkward placement of the living room TV, but we didn’t end up using it anyway."

"I was not expecting an email 24 hrs before check in telling me that there was no front office staff (they call it contact-less check in) to let us in the building. After waiting outside for 15 minutes trying phone numbers (2nd one worked) I got a code for the front door.
