"On a flying visit to Bergerac, we were looking for a quiet hotel to stay two nights. Luckily we came across La Carreterie. It was ideal for what we required and our host Thierry went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable and relaxing. Really enjoyable breakfast. Hotel has been renovated to a high quality quaint French country style hotel. Look forward to returning "

"Firstly, let me tell you that I had noted your hotel months ago prior to our road trip in Europe. At the time I didn't book right away not knowing which day we would be in Vianden. A few days ago I finally booked entering only the hotel name.Victor Hugo hotel and restaurant. It just so happened that it was another one with the same name in France. We ended up having to book a last minute hotel here in Vianden. Would you be kind enough to reimburse my night for the one in France as I am a very loyal customer and .it is a very legimite error. Thanks in advance."

"The owners are friendly and very nice. They were on site the whole time we were there, so we shared the pool with them and the people renting their smaller apartment (although we were never actually in the pool at the same time). We didnt realise this from the advert. The house is nice, but a little old fashioned - the kitchen and bathroom could really do with a refresh as they feel very dated. That said, the kitchen came with everything we needed included dishwasher and coffee machine. But the cuboards were old, especially the ones above the sink and did not stay open on their own which made it extremely hard to get things out one handed. The chairs in the kitchen were wobbly and there were only 4 chairs (there were 5 of us). They did however provide an extra chair when we asked. We were only given 1 fan initially (for 3 bedrooms), but they did provide an extra one awhen asked after temp went to 40deg. There was some damp issues in the toilet and bathroom, and the roof leaked significantly when there was a heavy rainstorm (huge puddle on the floor in the morning). Obviously its a period house, and some of the furniture is charming, but overall it feels like the house needs a bit of a refresh. However, overall its a great location 5 minutes into town. There are lovely walks nearby and the big draw is the pool. The beds are comfy and the living room is cosy. The hosts are friendly and helpful and its easy to park right next to the house."

"Flawless stay from start to finish. Beautiful drive to hotel, winding through lots of vineyards and countryside. Grounds and chateau very stunning. Dinner was devine and staff all very helpful and friendly. "

"Thé gite was a lovely home very well equipped with absolutely everything one could wish for. Loads of games to play and a beautiful swimming pool in front of the gite. Our hosts were friendly and very hospitable and available if needed but also respected the privacy of their guests. Thé gite is surrounded by fantastic vineyards… lots of wine tasting !! Also central for visits to Bergerac and Bordeaux.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

"This is a beautiful traditional style French house of the region. It is a bit rustic in places, but absolutely packed with charm and character. The location is amazing - what you see in the photos is exactly how it is. The river is a 60-second walk away with easy access in and out of the water. The village is pretty, quiet and within 10 minutes drive of a E.Leclere supermarket and the main road. The house is spacious, has bags of character, has a fabulous outdoor space with chairs, sun-loungers and a small pool. Yes, the pool is small, but it's brilliantly positioned overlooking the river and catches the sun most of the day. The property manager was really helpful and quick to respond when we had questions. Couldn't fault a thing - would go back tomorrow if we could!"
