"Je déconseille fortement cet hôtel. L'accueil est inadmissible : une fois la réservation effectuée, en arrivant après 18h, un numéro est affiché pour contacter le personnel, mais personne ne répond. Le logement est sale, avec des moisissures partout, des odeurs d'égouts, et on entend des bruits de souris dans les murs. Au moment du départ, même scénario : on arrive à 10h pour rendre les clés, personne à l'accueil et, malgré nos appels, toujours aucune réponse. Ce n'est qu'après une heure...

"I had a delightful stay at this B&B and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling in this region. The room was pretty, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was top notch as was the service. "Chambre choisie côté vue de la vallée. Décoration au top, accès possible aux salons de la bâtisse. les hôtes sont très sympathiques, attentifs et serviables. Le petit déjeuner était exactement ce que j aime : fruits, jus de fruits, pain, beurres au choix, confitures excellentes, thé, kfir, brioche ou madeleine. Dommage, je n ai pas pu profiter de la table d hôtes, réputée. Je compte bien revenir aux beaux jours pour profiter de la vue, de la terrasse et de la piscine également ! "

Quality hotel

"Quality rooms at a reasonable price. The hotel is very large and seems a bit ‘corporate’ but it’s a nice hotel and very conveniently located. We didn’t eat in the restaurant so can’t comment. There are lots of restaurants and services nearby."

Only a one night stay

"We booked the hotel to attend a music concert at the Futurascope Arena. The hotel is clean and tidy with excellent facilities. The bar has tables with games on them which was a unique touch. Check-in was easy, staff where very friendly and efficient. Room was a good size, bed was comfortable. The only downsides were that their were no drink making facilities in the room and the bathroom and toilet area were tired. We would use the hotel again. "

"This place is impeccable. In spite of it being in an historic building it has been lovingly maintained. Our triple room had an enormous bedroom with twin sinks. The beds were in separate rooms and there were original paintings on the walls. Breakfast was very good. Stay there if you’re in the area."

"This was a one night stop over and so we didn’t expect much. Room was OK, breakfast also OK. Lack of how water in the room was a definite issue, we didn’t find out about this until our morning showers by which time it was too late to do anything. "

"The effort to make each set of rooms feel time authentic yet have all the mod cons was amazing. We had dinner, a three course set meal which offered great choice and excellent food, service and all round experience. Would definitely return a d recommend to all. "

Perfect stay at Hotel Rive Sud

"Our stay at the hotel was perfect from start to finish. The owners are super friendly and offered plenty of advice about the surrounding area, and tips on recommended places to visit. The attention to detail on the decor of the whole property gives a truly comforting & relaxed feel. The hotel is in a great location within a short 5-10 minute walk in to Chinon centre. I would highly recommend this property."

"Absolutely spectacular. We really enjoyed our time at Chateau de Candes. Bertrand and Sam went out of their way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible. Running this place is not easy but the family are doing their absolute best as custodians. They are fully dedicated and committed to making Chateau de Candes a success. Merci Bertrand et Sam.
