"This Hotel could do with a serious upgrade. We would not have stayed longer in the room we had if it had been for more than one night. When we arrived and saw the view it was great, but then it went downhill. The en suite was not good at all, and the dinning room more like a canteen. After 17 days away staying at 12 different places, this was most disappointing. I will say no more."

"We had a great Christmas experience at Top Gallant Cottage, our second in a row. The cottage is comfortable and cosy and an ideal place to relax during the festivities. Everything is there to make you feel at home and the views are excellent. Exploring the beach is always fun and there are lovely coastal walks close by. It has left us with many happy memories."

"Lovely warm house. The gardens looked great but too cold in February to make use of the fantastic terrace. Great location, close to a pub, the beach and a regular bus service to Whitby or Saltburn-By-The-Sea. We liked the fact that all bedrooms had en-suite bathrooms. A couple of small problems were resolved quickly by the owner. Gave 4 stars for cleanliness as there was a sock left under one of the beds (not ours) and a throw and cushion were stained and a bit smelly in one of the bedrooms. "
