"Excellent hotel. The staff are especially outstanding, above and beyond helpful and friendly with excellent customer service. The facilities are excellent. The only niggle was the central heating/AC controls didn’t respond in both rooms which i think was due to a central override so that was annoying. "

"All good, except bathroom fan runs permanently, even when light turned off, mentioned this to staff and was informed this is the case in all rooms, a bit annoying, but not drastic, still clean and comfortable with friendly staff. Parking overnight is expensive however, but Egham isn't a massive town and you can probably find a side street fairly nearby for free."

"Having stayed in Eton several times, always wanted to stay at Gilbey’s. Stayed in studio suite and it was fabulous. A safe area and close to Windsor Castle, shopping , many pubs and restaurants. Staff was lovely. Will definitely stay there again. "

"As you would expect from a Sofitel at a big airport. Best location for Terminal 5 - a 8 minute walk from my room to check in, all in doors, so no cold/rain to deal with. Very good value in my opinion."

"The hotel is huge and it takes a while to find your way around it. It’s very clean & staff are helpful and attentive. We had a family room and our 12 year old was given a single sofa bed but it didn’t have a mattress so was solid and not fit for purpose but a quick call to reception and they sent a z-bed up which had a mattress so was a lot more comfortable for our son. The bar & restaurants are lovely and quality food and service. Nothing too much trouble. The grounds of the hotel are lovely with areas to sit outdoors for a drink or relax. Overall I would recommend the hotel as a lovely place to stay. We will definitely return. "

Charming Riverside Cottage - Ideal for Families & Groups, Pool, Gardens & River

LOVELY CHARACTER HOUSE ON THE THAMES

"Booked 3 nights for my daughters 50th birthday. We fortunately had the sunniest and warmest days of the year, so the younger ones were able to use the heated pool and jacuzzi. House very well appointed and equipped. The gardens are large and the rear extends down to the Thames where there is seating to watch the boats go by. Due to the good weather, we decided to utilise the house and garden to the fullest, which meant that BBQ's and pizzas were the order of our evening meals. I can thoroughly recommend Old Wharf Cottage for a stay that combines an old character property with modern amenities"
