"I stay away two or three nights every week and this is one of the nicest places I have stayed this year. It is rare these days that people offer to help you with your bags but Toby didn’t even ask, he just picked my bag up and said. ‘I’ll take you to your room ‘ lovely HOTEL and great stuff. I got there late so didn’t sample the food but it looked excellent and I will try and get there early next time."

"A really great stay, check in was smooth mid afternoon, superior room was fine with a fantastic super king bed and huge bathroom. We had supper in the bar, good food and drinks in a busy pub setting, a nice buzz and big shout out to Lewis and Sam who were so friendly and professional, a great team. Breakfast was really good, again in the bar with plenty of choices cooked to order as well as a small buffet. We will definitely return again!"

"Very nice room with comfortable bed, excellent shower, though fairly small bedroom with a standard sized double bed and no chairs. Free parking space for each room. Extremely good value for money. Premier Inn, Hereford wanted £110 more for 1 night(!) and would have charged extra for breakfast and parking! We had a meal at the pub that was OK. All the staff were very helpful and friendly."

"We stayed at the Sloop for a night whilst walking the Wye Valley Way. Our room was spotless and comfortable, and the en-suite bathroom with bath was lovely and spacious. We ate dinner and breakfast in the pub and the food was also excellent, pub food and with a specials board, and freshly cooked to order. The pub is not modern but I can honestly say that our stay had all the facilities that we needed."

"The only small problem o had was that the lid on the toilet didn't stay up as the flush was put in a poor position.Also my cold tap didn't work.but these are minor problems.very comfortable foot very good beer very good,and Staff were very helpful and pleasant."

"Small room but fairly comfortable. Old windows so outside noise but in a quiet village. The green emergency lighting in the room was so bright it lit the entire room up so I struggled to sleep. Breakfast was excellent pick what you want and served to you."

"Good night’s stay at this inn. Excellent food and brilliant value on Half Price Mondays. Room was good, although a couple of things could do with updating (loose toilet seat, for example). Dolce Gusto coffee machine in the room & unlimited access to fruit juice, milk, and water in the fridge outside were both nice touches. Convenient location for Forest Hills Golf Course and Symonds Yat Rock (both of which we visited) and access to other areas around the Forest of Dean. Would definitely consider...
