Interestin place, but missing some basic functions
Friendly staff. Very clean room, good amenities and was a good location being right next to a water taxi stop. The one issue I had was that there were no easily accessible wall sockets next to the bed. I usual put my phone here to charge. Instead there was a DVD player plugged in which I can't imagine anyone ever wanting to use.

Very unique modern hotel
First of all this hotel is extremely unique, ultra modern, boutique and very urban styled. I absolutely loved my split level room and really wanted to give it top marks. I do give it top marks for design...the showers, yes 2 showers in the shower area were fabulous. The separate corner bath and views to the shower from above were Instagram worthy (if I used Instagram). The brown Elemis products were on point as was the space in general. Also loved the restaurant downstairs for its relaxed comfortable style and good food. Where this hotel needs to improve is in communication. There were several discussions and requests made that were not passed on or fulfilled. This is an easy improvement. My comments and annoyance were passed on and they have done their utmost to keep me happy. I can't complain about that. My other complaint is probably harder to fix but as it is a converted building, the pipework is very exposed and probably old. This makes for alot of noise early morning when people are showering or bathing. Such a shame as it looks very lovely. I loved showering and bathing but the noise to the neighbours is horrible. Would I stay here again...probably for a short stay due to the uniqueness, but it's not central enough if you like the buzz of the town. This again is easily fixed on the (expensive) tram but I did like my other apartment due to its central position.

Enjoyed my stay here
I chose this hotel because it is located close to where I was working. The room was clean and spacious and quirky which I found appealing. The staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and good coffee. The food at the restaurant is average which is a shame as this is really the only option in this neighborhood, also the restaurant closes too early @9pm. Parking outside the hotel is free between 6pm and 9am the following morning which is another reason I stayed here, city center parking is expensive. There is a pay point (takes visa) just yards from the hotel and it is advised to pay if you're early/late to avoid a fine. All in all I had a good stay here and would go back here for work but not on a weekend break due to the location and restaurant.

Comfortable studio rooms
The rooms in the Stroom are unusual but incredibly pleasant. Good bed on a mezzanine, all the types of pillow you could hope for and a big TV with DVD player. Minimal look but everything's there.

What I hate about hipsters...
The hotel is generally good, but in some respects it exemplifies everything I hate about hipsters. Most importantly, the "shower" is a tube sticking out of the floor in the middle of the room, which entails that the floor is soaked afterwards, and it's also a problem if you, like me, prefer to have a warm bath room and a cold bed room. This just seems like an idiotic hipster decision, since they could easily have enclosed the shower, and have it fitted with a proper shower head. We were often left waiting in the reception as well, so the service could do with some improvements. I would also much rather have a coffee maker in the room than an overpriced sunset-simulator alarm clock, especially since the seagulls would wake us up in the morning anyway. Location and cleaninliness is excellent though.

Tired decor and dark room
We stayed in studio 1. The bed was very comfortable, however, many of the lights did not work, the room was really dark, the shower splashed everywhere and there was no storage or areas to set personal items down in the bathroom. The room was tired with the decor needing refreshing. The shower clearly leaks or splashes around the bedroom that the base of the walls and paintwork suffer from water damage. In conclusion, style over substance!

Highly Recommended
A great small hotel in a warehouse conversion with a stripped-back urban feel, but still warm and relaxed, with fun film-studio touches. It seems a bit far out at first, but there is a tram stop across from the hotel and you are only 15 minutes from down-town. We had a very comfy bed in an open plan room with a shower behind glass - which made showering fun but the only drawback was that water tended to splash into the room a bit. Downstairs there is an excellent restaurant / bar - again, comfy and casual, with an open plan kitchen so you can see the team in action. Without exception the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful - they could not do enough to make our stay a pleasure. Will definitely go back.
