"We chose to stay in a more rural area to get away this year. It was definitely rural. There are just a few places by the house but we didn’t see anyone. There is a convenience store about 15-20 min away but other than that, it’s a good 45 min to civilization. Very nice river frontage. The only downfall of the river were the barges traveling up and down the river at night. Very nice to watch but some of us lost sleep due to the noise. The house definitely had everything we needed. "

I asked for late checkout she agreed to 12:30, then called me at 11:10 saying I should have been out an hour before which would have been 10:10, but published checkout was 10:30. "Pictures are deceiving. The building itself is old, moldy, and downright gross. The neighbors driveway is directly next to the entry way to the "cabin." The building is ok from the outside, but the location bites. The path to the lake is blocked by a large dead tree. The The windows that face the neighbors have no curtians and you can see into the property from outside especially at night. The neighbors are outside from 6 am until 9 pm. "This is a lovely cottage on the Ohio river. We stayed for two weeks and truely enjoyed it. This cottage has the older home charm with modern amenities. We look forward to coming back for future stays. "
