"I took a side trip to Châteauroux between matches of the World Cup Soccer tournament so I could spend two days visiting the Brenne Nature Reserve. Of the six hotels I’ve stayed at on this trip, this one has been easily the best. Terrific hosts, good breakfast and dinner service, and a top-rate room at a very reasonable rate. A good walkable location in the city center as well."

I mentioned to the chef that he liked using nuts as there were hazel nuts with the fish and a mixture of nuts with the baked apple in pastry. He looked a bit bemused and then said Well, it's autumn. All staff spoke English but switched to French when I spoke to them in French. The room was...
