"The Maya Mountain Lodge was our jungle oasis. It is a two minute drive from Santa Elena and less than 10 minutes from San ignacio. We stayed in Agouti which had a good sized bedroom with a 2 person table, bathroom and a kitchen in the porch area. "Falling Leaves was wonderful. The staff was amazingly nice and very helpful. The hotel itself is a little dated, but it's well kept and the pool area is brand new and really a cool spot to hang out. Lovely oasis not far from San Ignacio

"We enjoyed staying at sweet songs jungle lodge. Staff were very friendly and helpful while the grounds and rooms very nice and well maintained. We opted to use their shuttles and excursions which provided high quality guides and timely reliable transportation. We especially enjoyed canoeing from the lodge to San Ignacio on market day seeing monkeys and birds along the way and visiting nearby Mayan temples. We highly recommend staying here. "

Beautiful home in the heart of the jungle

"This property is very beautiful in an even more beautiful setting. Walter (property manager) was extremely responsive to requests and Jim the owner was quick to answer messages. Our entire family enjoyed this property. A few things to note the road getting there is extremely rough, when they tell you that 4 wheel drive is required that is not an overstatement. You will want to make sure you have everything you need before you head to the house because getting into town is not a small feat. But if you come prepared it really is a once in a life time experience, you will be serenaded by howler monkeys and other wildlife. "
