"Sangregado Lodge has to be one of the BEST PLACES I'VE EVER STAYED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE and I've traveled a lot. The rooms are ridiculously beautiful. Modern with amazing views (looking at the volcano every morning was breathtaking). The glass shower was a plus! I loved that it's only 11 villas and that it was quiet. Francisco and Luis are RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING! They did all they could to make my stay at the lodge an unforgettable experience. I'll never forget it ❤️. So friendly, kind and professional with a level of hospitality that I haven't seen anywhere else. They are also very knowledgeable about so many things including flora and fauna and the area. The breakfast area is very far. I recommend ALWAYS taking the trolly. The people at the breakfast spot were very nice and kind while professional. I wish I had stayed longer. I was actually sad when I left. I would have extended my stay here instead of going to Guanacaste. I loved that they are also right across the místico park. Please go! It's amazing! I recommend a tour guide. Larry was also helpful with check-in and check-out. Thank you. I honestly could keep going and going on about this place 💚 All in all FIVE STARS! Muchas gracias y pura vida! Every day there was a friendly check in text to make sure we weee having the time of our lives and a request on what we could help book reservations for incredible dinners. House was beautiful, magnificent breakfast and all around fantastic place to stay. Book it! You won’t regret it!"

"We loved Lost Iguana! This is our second trip to Costa Rica and our first to the Arenal Volcano area. The hotel grounds were lovely and very close to the Hanging Bridges. We booked a full day tour (bridges, volcano, waterfall) and spent the other two days hanging out at the pool/pool bar. We ate at the hotel restaurant for most of our meals and thought it was good and the price was reasonable. The breakfast buffet was also great. The hotel trail was also great (takes about 45 minutes). Be prepared to walk a lot of hilly terrain!"

"We loved our stay at this rustic location. Awesome authentic breakfast and very accommodating and informative hostess, Yocky. For travellers expecting luxury and air conditioning, this is not that experience. It is rural (some dodgy roads to get there), and basic but clean and well maintained cabins. Good hiking in the area. "
