"Wonderful and unique place "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The panoramic view of Lake Arenal is amazing and can be enjoyed from the bed, the sitting area, or the deck. Ana and her staff served the most delicious breakfast each morning. The room was very comfortable and was nicely made up each day while we were out exploring. There are a few restaurants and small shops within walking distance, down a dirt road at the bottom of the hill. We rented a car at the airport in San Jose, and I think it might be tricky to get around without one as this is a fairly remote spot (in a good way). La Fortuna is about a 40 minute drive away; we explored the town, visited the Tabacon hot springs (there are many others depending on your tastes), and did excursions to the Mistico hanging bridges, La Fortuna Waterfall, and Arenal Volcano lava fields. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a scenic, private, peaceful and welcoming spot (and some amazing food) away from the commotion of town."

"Beautiful resort. Wish we had stayed longer. Staff everywhere were extremely friendly. We had a a 2nd floor deluxe room which faced the volcano but was partially obscured by a tree. No big deal. Still an amazing view. Food at the restaurant was very good but there wasn't much Costa Rican variety. Pool and the bar were great. My only issue was that they wouldnt exchange any US currency to Costa Rican. Also keep in mind that this resort is about a 20 minute drive from La Fortuna."

"Truly one of a kind! We stayed in an east bungalow surrounded by forest, monkeys, birds and the sound of the waterfall. Each bungalow is private and well appointed. From the staff to the food to the pools and activities, it is a 5 star experience all around. Just over an hour from LIR airport, this should be on your list of places not to miss while in CR."

"The villa has a great view of the lake and is extremely quiet. It’s secluded but still close to the main road and we felt like it was a safe area The directions provided by the owner are good but it is hard to find at night. The furniture, bedding and amenities are pretty old but we were not expecting 5 star. We loved Nuevo Arenal compared to the very touristy La Fortuna but there are of course more activities there. Overall very happy with the villa"

"Very safe secluded area directly across from Mistico hanging bridges. Room was better than expected and great free breakfast at lost iguana only a small drive away. There was a little mix up with the check out procedure so pay close attention but their customer service was great and solved any issue I had. Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you. "

"A nice room with a nice patio overlooking the lovely and large garden. Breakfast was nice and they didn't mind that we arrived late. We enjoyed going just next door to the puma rescue center to see many indigenous animals. This place was great for a night after arriving LIR airport before we kept going on our Costa Rica vacation."
